Dear Eli,

A very happy birthday to you today. I am so proud you; of your strength, your kind soul and your cheerful spirit. I loved you the first time I saw you, and you'll always be my special brown-eyed boy. Always remember who you are, and that your parents love you!

Love, Mom

Happy Birthday to Me!

28 years ago today I was born!

I looked like this:

(Kind of like Iris, but with a huger forehead)

It has been a lovely 28 years!

Thank you all for the well wishes!

:o)

p.s. Jeremy - this is what I want for my birthday...

Likeness in Nature

Why, yes I did compare my sweet baby girl to a sea turtle, but you know what?

Sea turtles are pretty darn cute, too...

Sit-Ups

Iris has been practicing, and she has just about figured out the high chair...

I think the high chair pad needs re-covered...

Better find some cute girly vinyl or laminated fabric.

And just for comparison. :)

Sleeping Babies

They could be twins!
(Except for all that hair on Eli. Sheesh!)

Huzzah!

This is the pretty little cradle we bought for Eli when he was still a fetus.

E hated it. He slept in his swing. I think he spent 4 minutes in the cradle. (Here is the photo evidence)

We used it as a laundry basket for a while, then packed it up, put it away, and said to ourselves, "Our next baby will surely love it, Eli is just a freak!"

Iris hates it. She sleeps in her bouncy chair. We've tried to get Iris to nap/lie down/not scream in the cradle, at least once a day for her nearly 11 weeks of life...

and finally...

last night she slept through the night in the cradle!

Like Two Peas in a Pod

I thought it would be fun to put pics of E & Iris side by side (or top to bottom) because to me, these babies look an awful lot alike.

Eli is first, Iris second in all these pics :D

See... definite resemblance!
