Some Belated Christmas-y Pics

Eli's Christmas concert.
He's immediately under the wreath. Yay for being one of the "tall" kids! (With HIS parents?!)

My three chitlins. Iris displaying her beloved belly button. She loves it. Seriously.

Here are some pictures of our Christmas decorations that Eli took. I love the realism. See how he didn't edit out the vacuum cleaner, or the pile of mail on the chair? Makes me feel like a wonderful housekeeper! :)

The ONLY picture I took on Christmas...

Eli with the gingerbread house he made in Kindergarten. He made sure to tell everyone who saw it not to eat it, because there were raw eggs in the icing!

Homework Time

E is in all day Kindergarten, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
His teacher sends home homework for the off days to keep him focused.

Homework is serious business at our house!

When Eli does his homework, Iris has to have some to do, too...

Midwives and Such

Yesterday we went to the grand re-opening at Agape' Birth Center, which is the midwifery service that attended Greta and Iris' births.

Here are Greta and her midwives, Michelle and Joyce

Here are Eli and Iris, with Kathy and Valerie.
Valerie just got her license!

You can view the sweet little video they were showing at the open house here the first 2 minutes or so are a tour of the birth center, and then there are birth stories and pictures. Our births are at about 4:30...

Monsters!

The monster truck show is in town!

No, we're not going. Mullets are required for entrance, you know.

Eli is really excited about the big trucks, though!

Gone Fishin'... Again!

We haven't gone fishing since Greta was born. I think we've gone fishing once this summer!

This week, when I made our menu, between pizza and BBQ chicken, I listed "Successful Fishing Trip". Jeremy was happy to see that menu item!

So we headed out to Jensen's Grove... did you know they stock it with trout?!

Iris carried the worms... and her purse!

Eli and Jeremy fished

Jeremy caught the first fish... which inspired Eli to catch the second

and the third!

Eli was very excited to out-fish his dad.

Iris kept track of the worms

Greta enjoyed her first fishing trip, from the car seat

when the girls got too cold, we waited in the car for dad and brother

yummy fish for dinner!

First Day of Kindergarten

Eli's first day of school was Thursday.

He wanted Tutu and Daddy to walk him, so mom stayed home with the girls.

My baby boy is so grown up!

Family Sword Fight

Typical Sunday morning at the Heer house.

Of course Iris had to get in on the action, but she's not very careful
with the "business" end of the sword...

When the carnage was over, Mom and Iris went upstairs to take our before church naps. Eli and Daddy were going to watch "Legacy", but first they decided to not fight ever again, so they buried their weapons of war in the ground (under a Batman blanket)

Salmon

We spent the 4th of July in Salmon at Margo's cabin...

The kids loved the huge ants

and the swing

and of course, the 4-wheelers.

Hike

We went on a 7.4 mile hike to Allan Lake on Tuesday.

Eli hiked the whole way, and carried his own pack.

Iris, not so much...

she broke in her new Kelty!
