That Darn Cat!

Conversation overheard between Eli and... uh... himself.

"Here comes Rosie!"

"She has something in her mouth!"

"It's a mouse! It's a big mouse!"

"She's carrying it in her MOUTH!"

"She put it down!"

"It's DEAD!"

"She's licking it! Now she's EATING it!"

"She's eating the head!...The head is all gone! She ate the WHOLE head!"

"Now she's eating the rest of it!"

"She ate the WHOLE mouse! Eeeuuw! That's gross!"

Later he brought the kitty inside and they were playing. Rosie made Eli mad and he told me that he doesn't like her, and doesn't want her to live with us anymore. I told him if we get rid of the kitty, he'll have to catch mice with his mouth and eat them.

He was quiet for a long time.

Then he told me that he "changed how his mind was". I guess he loves her.

(That Rosie is so darn photogenic!)

Iris' Amazing Powers

This is Iris, and her cute butterfly toy, that for lack of a better name we call "pretty butterfly friend". This is unusual, since we are a family of namers. I'm sure we'll name the butterfly shortly.

Iris has not yet "discovered" her hands, which leads to an interesting question.

Do you suppose she thinks she's moving pretty butterfly friend with her mind?

p.s. I have decided that pretty butterfly friend's name is Betsy.

Like Two Peas in a Pod

I thought it would be fun to put pics of E & Iris side by side (or top to bottom) because to me, these babies look an awful lot alike.

Eli is first, Iris second in all these pics :D

Birth

24 hours

First bath (that a camera was around)

Looking goofy

Being held by Daddy

On a Boppy

Smiling beautifully

See... definite resemblance!

Monday, Monday

Eli has a lot to say about Jesus. This morning I was informed that Jesus made trees, cars, animals, apples, lions, food, socks and rocks because he loves us. How very true. :) Also, Jesus has a pet tiger. Not sure where he learned that one. Also, Jesus did not make grasshoppers.

Iris has been practicing her smiles. She's getting really good! She has started cooing in a very high-pitched, girly way. I'll try to get a video of it, but she seems to be as suspicious of the camera as Eli was at that age.

Both kids were in great moods today, and E read Iris a whole pile of storybooks.

Love those kidders!
