I Looked Out The Window and What Did I See?

Thanksgiving dinner looking right back at me!

These naughty boys also went in the garage and made
turkey plops all over the floor.

It's Jeremy's fault - he left the doors open to air out his latest log creation (to be featured at The P.C in a few weeks!)

Eli asked how we are going to clean up the turkey mess, and Daddy told him he would let them dry and then sweep them up.

A few minutes later, E was on his hands and knees
BLOWING on the turkey poop... know why?

To dry them up!

Glad I didn't get a picture of that!

A Ransom Demand

My Mom is in Missouri, visiting my sister and
meeting my new nephew, Mason.

Eli got this postcard in the mail on Thursday.

(Drawn by my oh-so talented Brother-in-law, Mike)

(Tutu is Grandma)

Eli was very concerned.

"Mom, are the pirates going to kill your Mom?"

"Why did they kidnap Tutu?"

"Will they drown her?"

"Why is she in a barrel?"

"Is that a bad dog?"

I told Mike and Cheri that sending a ransom demand thru USPS is a federal offense... so is kidnapping, come to think of it!

I assured Eli that this is a joke... but I'm not sure he's convinced.

Boy loves his Tutu!

Action Shots

I have had problems getting pictures of my super active little Iris

They all came out fuzzy like this!

Know how I fixed it?

No, I did not drug her, or duct tape her to the wall...

I put my camera on the "Sports" setting.

Not too different from a jump shot!

Gymnastics... and Other Stuff

Yesterday was Eli's first day of gymnastics.

He loved it.

But first...
The teaching assistant came out into the Mom waiting area, and asked me, "Are you Amber?"
(I was)

"What is your little boy's name? The one in the green shirt?"
(Eli)

"Oh. I asked him his name, and it sounded like 'Blue Suede'!"
(He meant Bruce Wayne. But he also answers to "Batman")

I was a little embarrassed, especially since all the other Moms got such a hoot out of it...

That's my (crazy) boy!

The Cake

Yesterday I made a cake.

Eli helped me crack the eggs.

He asked me to turn on the oven light so he could watch it cook.

When it came out of the oven he waited patiently for it to cool.

He watched me make the frosting, measured the sugar for me.

I finished frosting the cake, turned to put the bowl in the sink.

Turned back. Eli was on his way to the table, cake plate in his hands.

"Uh - what do you think you're doing?" asks his Mom.

"Don't worry. I'll come back for a fork!" says Eli...

This is the crabby face of a boy whose Mom
wouldn't let him eat a whole cake.

Uncle Todd

Uncle Todd came up with Auntie Kim!

Iris hearts him.

Especially when he feed her with his puny arms.

He is pretty much Eli's favorite person. Including Mom.

E was sad that he was leaving, so he refused to get in the picture...

See you at Thanksgiving (?) dude!

Auntie Raver... kind of

So my sister Rhienne is into glow stick dancing or something. Not really sure what it's called. Anyway she spent the night at our house the other day, and put on a little techno light show for Eli and Iris. They loved it!

Here are some still shots of her "craft"

and of course Mr. Eli tried it

Gifts From Poland

My sister Kim recently returned from Poland where she spent 4 weeks digging up medieval vampires. Is there anything cooler?

She brought some gifts for my kiddies...

For Eli:

Does she KNOW this boy, or what?!

For Iris:

Jeremy was confused by this gift, because he doesn't think it looks European, but it totally reminds me of these goats.

puppet goat herd

Which kinda freaked me out as a kid...

The day after we got these gifts, Iris was sitting in her high chair playing with a toy, and when she looked the other way, Eli took the toy and replaced it with the goat. She looked back expecting to see her toy, and screamed bloody murder when she saw Goatee here.

He is a little creepy looking...

And any piece of jewelry.

She has also started giving big, wide open mouth kisses! I'll post a pic as soon as I catch it!

We went fishing there on Saturday evening...

Limit is 6!

We caught that many in about an hour!

Batman the fisherman...

(Batman doesn't touch the fish. They're icky)

Fair Parade

Saturday was the Eastern Idaho State Fair parade

Batman came

We got there an hour earlier than we needed to, since we we mistaken about what time it started... Iris entertained herself with a stick

Eli shows off the spider he squooshed

He also made some insta-friends, and had a great time!
